Its a Strange World

It’s a strange world we live in,
When we turn our hearts into stone whenever we see little boys and girls with their outstretched hands begging for alms, thinking in our mind that this is yet another racket being operated and we would only encourage them by handing out something, never once thinking that the poverty they face is real.
It’s a strange world we live in,
When we become crestfallen with our latest project marks or the latest CP, and not look at the beautiful friendships we have , not being thankful to God for giving us the opportunity to meet with such diversely talented people.
It’s a strange world we live in,
When the ideals we nurtured all our life crumble in a hasty or hot-blooded moment
It’s a strange world we live in,
When we don’t realize the world needs us, whoever we are, to go and shine in people’s lives, give them the joy of love and warmth, and us the joy of purpose..........

Dilli Meri jaan!!!

Ramblings of a belle on life@imi@delhi

My first darshan of Delhi was when I was 10 years old. Residual memories tell me I was indifferent to anything significant. This perception underwent a paradigm shift when I started pursuing my higher studies here.

Only opinion everyone concerned for me voiced, about was how unsafe is the national capital. Blissfully casting these aside, I really feel Delhi is a nice place to be in. There is a hotch potch of culture and language. This is the only city in which you will find an auto rickshaw guy asking “pardon me?” and a guy stepping out of a BMW speaking tapori hindi. Be it street side shopping or mall shopping, a dinner at a dhabha or a multi-cuisine restaurant, travelling by a luxury sedan or a metro, Delhi flaunts it all. The size of the roads and the numerous construction sites in this city always amaze me. The sheer enormity of the buildings here, the DLF Select City Walk makes me wonder why people say there is no space in Delhi. No one is left disappointed. Historical past lives in harmony with the twenty-first century technological advancement. Don’t believe me? Just have a look at chandi chowk and DLF Emporio. This city nurtures the dreams of the millions of starry eyed people who embark on a new journey at every entry point. This city gives scope for letting your dreams take shape and provides you with a strong hand which lifts you and takes you wherever you want. This city lets you live life the way you want it to be.

Angel salutes this city!

Never Give Up On Life. . . .

Didn't feel the need to write anything. . . . .

Adorable Moment

Has love bloomed over this blog?

The huge unexpected success of the Ode to Love poem has drawn remarks and comments from several corners of IMI. The Blog committee has been closely following this development.

The anonymous poet, has received a very warm and adorable reply in the form of a well worded verse, which can be seen in the comments of Ode to Love and the next comment below it, is a rhyming version of the original poem!!!(Tehkikaat observation)

The poet has been successful in getting his point across. IMI blog committee is happy for him!.....

3 cheers to Love!!

The path I chose and the road we have to travel…

I can still remember the day when I first came to IMI to deposit my fees. That day I came to know what amazing feats can be achieved by photography. Being from HBTI I was used to a very green and vast campus spread in hundreds of acres. So when I had deposited my fees I decided to check out the campus. I asked Mr. Ravi Sharma,”where is the basketball court?” .He gave me an annoying gaze and said, “It’s in front of you”. At that moment I felt a sense of ambiguity as to whether praise the photographer for clicking a picture of people playing basketball in air (this picture is shown on the website) or curse myself for assuming a full-fledged basketball court just by seeing two guys and a basketball in mid air. Nonetheless I asked Ravi again.”Where are the hostels?” He gave be a bewildered look and said,” Lad, it’s in front of you”. I said,”I can see that but where are other hostels like for girls and faculty residence?” He said, “Well . . . that’s about it”. I couldn’t imagine how could boys and girls hostel and faculty residence can be housed in one building (that was until I saw the claustrophobic rooms of boys hostel).but I guess that was it. Optimistic as I am and unfazed by my disappointment I asked the final question,”I have heard and read so much about the amazing amphitheatre of the college, which is the centre of all student life here, I have to see it!!!”. “Son”, replied Ravi, now displaying a serene smile on his face,” You are standing on it”.

Not to mention that I was utterly disappointed by taking an admission into a college , the campus of which ends as soon as it starts, which is claustrophobic and did not have a basketball court( basketball =oxygen for me). I joined the college with one hope and that is to study with an amazingly talented peer group.

And I must say that I am not disappointed. Each individual in our batch is amazingly talented. Now four months into the program I am convinced the only thing our college lags is a culture. So let’s start to work towards it with the same zeal and passion we prepared for CAT. Let’s start thinking out of the box . . . let’s encourage new ideas . . . let’s channel our amazing talents into something constructive and worthwhile . . . let’s start nurturing a CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE . . . . so that this college gets the class of alumni it really deserves !!!
